Saturday's are for exploring! My friends and I went to the Untermyer Gardens in Yonkers, NY. I've never been there before and was eager to check out this place. There was so many flowers and plants scattered all over the land. I loved the architecture buildings they were very appealing to the eye. Once we found the waterfall all we wanted to do is hop in to cool off but we didn't since there were signs telling us to not go into the water. The waterfall was looked so refreshing and alluring it was located at the Temple of Love. The overall environment was stunning and peaceful to walk around. I would love to come back to the Untermyer Garden again to browse, take more photos and enjoy the many views.

This was the first time I attended the Belmont Stakes in Elmont, NY. 2018 is a big year for the stakes because it was their 150th anniversary and the horse Justify was racing for the Triple Crown. It was a very long and exciting day. We arrived at the Belmont Stakes at 8AM and left around 5PM. As soon as we got there we went through security, found picnic tables to place our stuff on and browsed around the food trucks. It was a beautiful sunny day and made the event more enjoyable. About 10mins after we arrived tons of people started to come in the building. As it got later in the day the more packed the stakes became.
My group and I all bought the Toast of the Turn tickets so around 12PM we grab out items and headed towards the Toast area. It was the first year Belmont decided to have this ticket package, the package included a secluded section with 20 beer vendors, 4 free beers and a craft tasting. They gave us a 2oz souvenir cup for our craft tasting and we definitely ended up getting our money's worth. Thank god for the Toast of the Turn tickets because it wasn't as packed as the general admissions area. We were able to sit and walk around our section comfortably. In our special area they did have a DJ which was great, they played a variety of music. |
