I found a cute spot called La Dolce Cafe in Norwalk, CT. The Italian cafe has a variety of delicious items available. From pastries, crepes, gelato, sandwiches, coffee and more. I ended up leaving with a cup of vanilla gelato. It was so hot that day I needed something to cool me off. It was so delicious, I haven’t had gelato in years! Now I have a new go-to spot in the SoNo area.

I thought it would fun to write an update on what I've been doing this summer. I've been working nonstop at my two part-time jobs and trying to survive through this heat! On social media I'm trying to get more of a following on Instagram. I've been posting, interacting with followers and companies on there which has been very beneficial.
Besides working at my jobs, blog and social media, Bravo TV has truly been my second boyfriend. Morning, afternoon and night I keep up with all of my favorite shows like, The Real Housewives Franchises, Below Deck, Southern Charm and Watch What Happens Live. I'm actually watching Below Deck while I type this blog post. I can't wait for Shahs of Sunset and The Real Housewives of Dallas to come back on the air in August. Saturday June 1st, my boyfriend and I went to our first Pinknic event at Governor's Island in NY. Once our tickets were checked we received a bag with a souvenir cup, beauty products, a blanket and a discount for sunglasses. Once we placed down our blankets we went to the bar to get some much needed frosé because it was 99 degrees out. The frosé was delish but $14 bucks! Don't get me wrong I do love a good rosé but I think $14 dollars is expensive just for a 6oz cup. Next year they should include one free frosé drink ticket within the ticket package. It was so hot we ended up drinking water the rest of our time at the event.
I wish they had more areas for people to stay in the shade. Staying under the sun for so long was a bit unbearable that we had to go to one of the vendors selling umbrellas and buy one. After we bought our umbrella we went back to our blankets and ate the food we brought to the event. It was enjoyable with the DJ and bands playing through the day. They got everyone dancing and in a great mood. We decided to stay until 3pm because it was so hot and to be honest there wasn't many activities to do. They had about 4 different vendors, a food area and rosé ping pong for the general admission area. I wish there were more games or things to do. By the time we were walking out of the event it was decently packed. A huge crowd of people got off the ferry and were coming in, let's just say I was happy we choose to leave at the time we did. For this years event it seems like if you got the general admission you just only needed a few hours at the event and you saw/did everything that you could do. Don't get me wrong I had a good first experience at Pinknic, I just wished that it wasn't as hot and there were more interacted things to do. Here's a few tips on what to expect and bring for next year. |
